Elisabeth Toubro, Sculptor

Born 1956 Godthåb / Greenland.

I was born in Greenland and spent my childhood there.
I live and work in Denmark.

 

Studies:

The Royal Danish Academy of fine Arts 1979- 1986.

I graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1986. I have been exhibiting in Scandinavia and in the rest of Europe and at the DCA gallery in New York. In 1998 I had a solo exhibition at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. I have made sculptures in public space and my works are represented at a various selection of Danish museums and at Moderna Museet in Stockholm.

Paris 1985-1986.

 

Selected Exhibitions:

Between 2007 and 2010 I have mainly worked on public commissions. Also I have had shows at two non-commercial spaces and a group-show at Designmuseum Danmark. During summer 2011 I participated in group-shows at Gallery Mikael Andersen and Gallery Christoffer Egelund.

2007-2011 Member of the Danish Arts Council and Chairman of the Committee for Visual Arts.

2004-2007President of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Chairman of The Academy Council.

1999 – 2002 Member of The Council of Art, Design, Architecture and Restoration formed by The Ministry of Culture, Denmark.
